About this Course
Seafarers employed or hired with a level of support on board a ship will receive training or
instruction to become aware of and familiarize themselves with protection. They should
contribute to maritime protection by raising awareness and recognizing threats to maritime
protection.
Due to various piracy events and illegal acts that have occurred during navigation, maritime
companies together with international organizations and maritime administrations have had to
take some measures to safeguard human life and maritime trade involving crew. This
encourages the entire crew to have awareness on maritime protection issues and it is
accredited by the maritime administration.
The course structure has been developed so the participant has knowledge about maritime
protection and applies it on board the vessel when necessary to comply with the provisions of
the ISPS code.
