About this Course
This course is primarily intended for:
– Personnel responsible for handling packages with cargo, dangerous, potentially dangerous and damaging on board ships.
It is also aimed at Personnel who work on land, including the competent authorities that perform certain functions such as:
– Classify dangerous goods and identify them with their own names to be shipped these dangerous cargoes.
– Pack dangerous cargo
– Marking, labeling or plaque to dangerous cargoes
– Loading and unloading of transport units
– Prepare documents for the transportation of dangerous cargo
– Offers dangerous goods for transport
– Accepts dangerous goods for transport
– Handle dangerous goods in transportation
– Prepare loading and storage plans for dangerous goods
– Loading and unloading dangerous goods to and from ships.
– Carries dangerous goods in transport, etc.
What is the format of the class?
The class consists of lectures, which are usually around 20 minutes each. There are also a number of resources, such as end of subject reflection (problem/question) and there are a number of law reports provided to reflect on the learning and knowledge gained from multiple topics, and standalone exams/quizzes, which are not part of the video lectures.
Entry Requirements
This course can be used to train experienced seafarers who will be assigned responsibilities for working with dangerous goods.
For personnel who work on land in the transport of dangerous goods that are going to be transported by sea, they must be trained with the content on the provisions of dangerous goods according to their responsibilities.
Employees must be trained according to the provisions 1.3.1 of the IMDG code before assuming responsibilities and must only perform functions under the supervision of trained personnel, for the period in which the training has not yet been provided.
